Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on July 8, 1989 in Paris. As a young girl of just five and moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled in an Oxfordshire-based Dragon School. At the age of six, Emma was aware she would like to be an actor and for several years, she studied at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught the art of acting and dancing. From the age of 10 the actress took part in as the lead in a number of Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was released in 1999. Emma was spotted by Emma's Oxford Theater instructor. David Heyman announced to Emma that after eight consecutive auditions they and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's first cinematic screen appearance. The movie broke all records in terms of opening day and weekend numbers, and was the top-grossing 2001 film. Film critics praised the film as well as its performances by the three leading young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance. Later Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her performance in the film and was awarded her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress Young in a feature Film.
